Thief Lake Wildlife Management Area
About
Thief Lake Wildlife Management Area is an excellent location for viewing wildlife. It is home to one of Minnesota's two herds of elk and a total of 232 bird species have been seen on Thief Lake, 99 of which are known to nest there. Also keep an eye out for snowshoe hare, southern red-backed vole, white-tail deer, and bear. There is a special wildlife viewing mound for watching birds on the lake and several boat launch sites. There are no interpretive trials.
