Tri-Birches Resort & Campground
About
Tri-Birches Resort - Your Classic Northwoods Getaway on Five Point Lake
Looking for that perfect up north escape? Tri-Birches Resort is where nine cozy cabins sit right on the shores of Five Point Lake. We're tucked away just 10 minutes from downtown Hackensack, MN, and about 45 minutes north of the Brainerd Lakes area – so you get the peace and quiet you're craving, but restaurants, shops, and everything you need are still close by.
Great Fishing & Plenty of Lake Time
Five Point Lake is a beautiful 300-acre lake that's just right for fishing – we've got Bass, Crappie, Bluegill, Northern Pike, and Walleye. The water stays pretty calm, which makes it ideal for kayaking, paddleboarding, or just cruising around on a pontoon. There's nothing quite like waking up to a gorgeous sunrise over the lake, and when evening rolls around, gather by the campfire and listen for the loons. It's pure Minnesota magic.
Cabins with All the Comforts
We've got cabins ranging from 1-3 bedrooms – great for a single family or perfect when you want to bring a bunch of folks but everyone still wants their own space. Each cabin has that classic wood cabin feel (inside and out, the way it should be!) but with all the modern updates. Full kitchens come stocked with everything you need to cook, updated bathrooms with nice showers (some have tubs too), and we're pet-friendly, so bring your furry family members along!
A couple special cabins worth mentioning:
- Eagle Cabin - This one's open all year, so if you're into ice fishing or snowmobiling, come on up in winter! Sleeps 8-12 with 5 beds and 2 futons.
- Bear Cabin - Fully accessible with wider doors, ramps, and a roomy bathroom with grab bars and a shower chair. Sleeps 5-7 with 3 beds and a futon.
Fun for Everyone, Rain or Shine
When the weather's nice, you'll find plenty to do – we've got a GIANT outdoor chess board (you gotta see it!), lawn games all over, complimentary kayaks to use, and boats and pontoons you can rent.
And hey, if it rains? No worries. Our new activity center has ping pong, foosball, board games, puzzles, video games, and even a golf simulator. There's always something going on.
Camping & RV Spots Too
Not a cabin person? We've also got campsites and electric-only RV sites where you can enjoy the same beautiful lake and all the nature around us.
Taking Care of the Land
We're pretty serious about being good stewards here. We don't use chemical lawn care – instead, we've let parts of the property go natural and planted native wildflowers for the bees and butterflies. We keep the beach areas clean by hand, plant trees for the future, and generally try to work with nature instead of against it. We figure if we take care of the land, it'll keep being this beautiful place for families like yours to enjoy.
When to Visit
We open up in May for fishing opener and stay open through fall colors and MEA weekend. During the summer, we do Saturday-to-Saturday weekly rentals, but if there's availability, we're happy to do shorter stays with a 2-night minimum. Whether you're after some good fishing, planning a big family reunion, or just need to unplug for a while, we'd love to have you.
Come on up and see why folks keep coming back to Tri-Birches Resort year after year. It's the kind of place where you can actually relax, the kids can run around and be kids, and everyone leaves feeling like they really got away from it all.
