Anyone nostalgic for the '90s would appreciate where Tune Town owner Carl Nordmeier worked before opening his own record store in Faribault: the CD-saturated music section at Target. After competing (and unfortunately losing) in an MTV contest that would have backed his own business, Nordmeier saved enough money up for the shop he'd eventually move to Mankato.

Now the city's last record store standing, it's hosted listening and release parties for popular artists like Twenty One Pilots, Deftones and Sabrina Carpenter, but it's also the kind of place that keeps its used bins stocked. Come for the latest Taylor Swift LP, leave with a used Replacements record.
