Waseca County History Center
About
The Waseca County History Center is the primary steward of this county's historical artifacts, archives, photographs, documents, family histories, birth, death, marriage, cemetery, baptism and other records--all indexed and accessible on the searchable website. The museum building is a former Methodist church and houses offices, processing, artifact storage, a gift shop and exhibits on the main floor and on the balcony. The Timeline of Unique Stories from Waseca County is a permanent exhibit spanning 150 years of county history presented on panels and 19 unique cylindrical display cases, each presenting one unique story. The research facility is located in the historic P.C. Bailey house, built in 1868 by horse thief Dayton Smith and listed on the National Register. The Waseca County History Center is open Tuesday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Membership is encouraged. Both facilities are ADA compliant.
