About
Learn to blacksmith using a railroad spike. One end will be shaped like a hammer. We will drift an eye into the middle to attach a wooden handle (not provided), then we will forge the blade out of narrow end of the spike. After shaping, the sides will be ground, the edge tapered, the tool heat treated and tempered. The final step is sharpening the edge.
Bring a bag lunch & closed lid bottle of water. Wear closed toe shoes, long pants and sleeves, cotton clothing only (no synthetics-even shoes). Leather aprons are best but optional. This class will be held indoors.
