About

The historic village of Frontenac, MN, located 12 miles southeast of Red Wing and 6 miles north of Lake City, is celebrating its 160th anniversary, on Saturday, September 21, 2019. Numerous educational events and displays are planned throughout the community to commemorate and honor our heritage and Frontenac's historic significance to Minnesota.
• The entire village of Frontenac is a National Historic
District
• Frontenac is bordered by Lake Pepin (Mississippi River)
& Frontenac State Park
• 35 of the Frontenac’s 100 homes are 19th century homes
• Tours of historic sites, recent restorations, & cemetery
walk with descendants
• Frontenac Art Show at the Villa Maria (being restored as
hospitality center)
• 1880 rules baseball and Native American lacrosse
games
• Book fair featuring Frontenac books with authors signing
their works
• Civil War encampment, veteran salute, along with 19th
century skilled craftsmen
• Frontenac antiques display & antique road show
• Quilt display in historic Christ Church
