About
Celebrate and learn about owls with a full weekend of programs and fun in Houston, MN. In addition to the Great Horned Owl, Barred Owl, American Barn Owl, Burrowing Owl and red morph Eastern Screech-Owl who work at the International Owl Center, you’ll also get to meet a variety of owls from the Illinois Raptor Center, including a live Snowy Owl. There are a wide variety of activities from pellet dissection to nest box building to face-painting, bus trips to call in wild owls and a birding/natural history/geology bus trip. The World Owl Hall of Fame awards will be presented, and winners Marjon Savelsberg from The Netherlands will speak about Eurasian Eagle Owl vocalizations and photographers David Lei and Jacqueline Emery from New York will speak about Flaco the Eurasian Eagle Owl. Enjoy the owl face pancake breakfast Saturday morning and all kinds of owl vendors.
Most activities take place at Houston High School, but others are located around Houston. Find full details at www.FestivalOfOwls.com.
