Sunset on the Lock is the only chance to experience the best of Minnesota summer nights in one of the most picturesque locations in the Twin Cities, the Upper St. Anthony Falls Lock and Dam.
Join us on August 31 for extended evening hours to get close to the falls and the Mississippi River. In addition to enjoying a stroll along the lock wall and stunning views, world renowned chalk artists Shawn McCann and Kimberly Wood will be creating chalk art installations. Urban Sketchers Twin Cities will also be on hand capturing and sharing their own unique points of view of the Mississippi River. Come down and join in on the collaboration and celebration of color on one of Minneapolis's most scenic structures.
Feel free to bring your own sketch pads, plein air setups, cameras or favorite medium to capture the beauty of the falls. The event is free and open for all to enjoy.
The lock will also be open for extended evening hours on Friday, August 30 from 5 PM to 9 PM. Join us!
