Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins | Duluth

An original, family-friendly, contemporary and Yiddish dance production based on the children’s book by Eric Kimmel, and Trina Schart Hyman.

A wandering trickster named Hershel saves a village in Ukraine from a pack of goblins who have taken over their synagogue and are preventing them from celebrating the holiday of Hanukkah. This production will run approximately 50 minutes and features a multi-generational cast and live music from Hershel's Ostropoler Kapelye.

Presented by Little Tanz Theater, directed and choreographed by Hannah MacKenzie-Margulies.

The Headhunters

Legendary jazz-funk ensemble The Headhunters celebrated the band’s fiftieth anniversary in 2023. Percussionist Bill Summers and drummer Mike Clark co-lead the band, with NEA Jazz Master Donald Harrison on alto saxophone. The band formed around Herbie Hancock‘s classic recordings: Head Hunters in 1973, Thrust in 1974 and Man-Child in 1975.

C-O-X Trio

Rochester Chamber Music Society presents C-O-X Trio on Saturday, January 17, 7:30 pm, at Christ United Methodist Church in Rochester.

The C-O-X Trio is a newly formed ensemble made up of local musicians. Members are violinist Kathleen Covalt, cellist John Osborn, and pianist Tianyao Xie. In their debut recital with RCMS, the trio will present an attractive program consisting of works by Haydn, Schubert, and Smetana.
