During the June, July and August, try one of our truly unique Northwoods paddling experiences as we take you on guided kayak day tours to some of our favorite spots. Let's go Paddle!

Packsack Canoe Trips & Log Cabins

Three lakeside log cabins, located 3 miles from Ely, restaurants, shopping, International Wolf Center. Housekeeping cabins sleep 4-6. All have bathrooms with shower, stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, cooking & eating utensils, Weber grill. Bed linens, towels included. Boats, motors, pontoon, portage wheels, canoes for rent.

Pacem in Terris Hermitage Retreat Center provides the opportunity for individuals to retreat into the silence and solitude of a simple hermitage environment.

The hermitages are nestled in the midst of the natural beauty and wildlife of forest, prairie, and lake.

The simple outdoor hermitages accommodate one person. They have a bed and bedding, a rocking chair, porch, a propane lamp, heater, and hot plate, but no electricity or running water. Bottled water and simple hermitage food is provided.

Oxbow Park and Zollman Zoo

Oxbow Park and Zollman Zoo are located just north of Byron, Minnesota, on the meandering Middle Branch of the South Fork Zumbro River. Owl's Nest is a small family resort located on 5th Crow Wing Lake with easy boat access to 6th and 7th Crow Wing Lakes. The cabins are all remodeled, clean and close to the lake, have nice decks, ceiling fans large window with a nice lake view. We have a nice beach with a raft, water slide, paddle boats, kayaks, canoes, Stand Up Paddle Boards and a sailboat for our guests at no extra charge. We also have a great playground and a game room.

Owen Lake Campground and Day-Use Area

Located in George Washington State Forest on Owen Lake, managed by Scenic State Park. The campground is considered "primitive," designed to furnish only the basic needs of the camper. The campsites consist of a cleared area, fire ring, and table. In addition, vault toilets, one dumpster, and drinking water are available. All sites are on a first come, first served basis for a fee.
This state forest campground is nestled under a healthy stand of red pines on the lake's western shore.
