Forestville/Mystery Cave State Park

The park features a rugged wooded landscape with blue ribbon trout streams, 17 mi of hiking trails and 15 miles of horseback trails, campgrounds, picnicking and abundant plant and animal life. Mystery Cave is located in the State Park and offers guided tours daily in the summer months. Minnesota's longest known cave, with stalactites, stalagmites, flowstone, and beautiful underground pools, and a maze of interconnecting passages. Modern lighting and walkways enhance accessible tours.

Forest History Center

Discover the past, present and future of Minnesota's forests through guided tours of a 1900s era logging camp and hands-on environmental learning programs. Board the moored river "wanigan," a floating cook shack, take a seat on the porch of a 1930s Minnesota Forest Service patrolman's cabin, climb a 100-foot fire tower and explore the site's self-guided trails.

Start your journey at the visitor center which boasts interactive exhibits, then tour the logging camp, join a naturalist led program and hike the self-guided trails.

Forest City Stockade

The restoration of the Forest City Stockade was a Meeker County project for the Bicentennial year of 1976. The Stockade, and the two-story museum within, stands as a memorial to the brave pioneers who settled here and sought safety behind its walls during the US-Dakota War of 1862.
