Established in 1889, the original Clyde Iron Works was a steel foundry and manufacturer of heavy machinery, once instrumental in completing well-known projects such as the Panama Canal, Empire State Building and Golden Gate Bridge.

Today, it serves as one of the top restaurant, bar and event venues in northern Minnesota - still honoring the American worker and Duluth's golden industrial age.

Clinton Prairie SNA

Willa Cather's description of a "rolling open country like the sea" could easily have been written for Clinton Prairie SNA and its topography of gently rolling ground moraine with broad, rounded swells and shallow depressions. The mesic blacksoil prairie here is exceedingly rare in the state's cornbelt, where row crops occupy nearly all of the upland soils built by prairies over the centuries from the raw material of calcareous (lime-rich) glacial drift from the Des Moines Lobe.

Clint Converse Campground and Day-Use Area

In Land O' Lakes State Forest, managed by Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area. The 31 campsites are considered "primitive," designed to furnish only the basic needs of the camper. The campsites consist of a cleared area, fire ring, and table. In addition, vault toilets, garbage cans, and drinking water are available. This Located on Washburn Lake and features terrific hiking, biking, boat access, fishing, and swimming.
