Located in George Washington State Forest, managed by Scenic State Park. The 29 campsites are considered "primitive," designed to furnish only the basic needs of the camper. The campsites consist of a cleared area, fire ring, and picnic table. Vault toilets, garbage cans, and drinking water are available. Bear Lake campground and Day Use Area is on a walleye and crappie lake with water access, swimming, dock, fishing, four picnic sites, and a picnic shelter at the day use area.

Listen quietly for the call of the loon, or cast a line in these outstanding fishing waters. 17 mi hiking trails; 9 mi cross-country ski, 1 mi snowmobile trail. Ski trail runs through rugged wilderness with deer, bear, and moose. Maps along trail. Ski pass required. Ski passes sold at park office.
