Felted Vessel Class

Explore the magic of wet felting by creating a one of a kind vessel or vase! You will use some wool, a resist, some soapy water and agitation to create a beautiful, but practical vessel that can hold little trinkets, jewelry or artificial flowers. Students will be able to choose your colors and add embellishments to make it unique and one of a kind! Additional options for adding beads will also be available. Instructed by Bobbi Hoppman of Witty Knitty Designs.

Sky-Vu Drive In

Established over 50 years ago, the Sky-Vu Drive-In movie theater in Warren, Minnesota MN continues to entertain people today. Since the 1970s, Leonard Novak has enjoyed owning this thriving entertainment business. Leonard and many others close to him remain dedicated to keeping this historic complex running no matter how many obstacles appear in their path. The Sky View Drive-In has withstood several challenges from such competitors as indoor theaters, Block Buster and Netflix yet still this classic outdoor movie venue succeeds.

Cobwebber Broom Class

Reach those high corners or rafters with ease! Learn the process for prepping a wooden handle, plaiting the broomcorn stalks directly on to the handle, and stitching the wisps tightly into shape. We will be working with power tools, axes, foot bobbins, and needles – so come prepared for a variety of experiences! Each student will leave class with their very own cobwebber to use, display, or gift. Instructed by Rebi Hulme of Rooted Apricity.

Maddi Nistler – All about loons with the National Loon Center

Maddi Nistler is a member of the Minnesota GreenCorps program serving her second term as Community Outreach and Readiness personnel at the National Loon Center in Crosslake, MN. Her lifelong love for the outdoors and the inner workings of the natural world has led her to become an MN Master Naturalist and advocate for Common Loons. Since moving here from Colorado in 2019, Maddi has continued to share her passion for wildlife with others through the Loon Center and beyond. She can often be found off the grid with a fishing rod or talking to trees and local squirrels.
