Infidels: A Bob Dylan Tribute feat. Dan Israel, Terry Walsh, Steve Brantseg

Infidels is a new local Bob Dylan tribute supergroup featuring Terry Walsh (Belfast Cowboys) on vocals, piano and guitar. Here, he joins bandmates David Haugen (drums) and Bart Bakker (bass). Also, longtime veteran singer-songwriter Dan Israel is on vocals and guitar, and ace lead guitarist Steve Brantseg.

Arturo Sandoval

A protégé of the legendary jazz master Dizzy Gillespie, Arturo Sandoval was born just outside Havana, Cuba in 1949. Just two years prior, Gillespie became the first musician to bring Latin influences into American jazz. Arturo began studying classical trumpet at the age of twelve, but it didn’t take him long to catch the excitement of the jazz world.

Their blend of jazz-induced bluegrass is highly infectious, and when they take off, they do so at dizzying speed with impressive precision.

Join us for an afternoon of biking. The fun kicks off at Two Fathoms Brewing where our skilled volunteers will guide you through a some bike maintenance tips and how to check your bike for safety to ensure a smooth ride. So, BYOB (bring your own bike) and embark on a group “no drop ride” to the Flyway Trail to explore and learn about local birdlife and sloughs. You might be wondering what “no drop” means. This is a ride where no one gets left behind if a rider isn’t able to hold the pace or have a mechanical issue.

Our Relative: Haha Wakpa

Join Prairie Island Indian Community Tribal Historic Preservation Office, Anderson Center, Lake Pepin Legacy Alliance, and independent cartographer Margaret Pearce for an evening dedicated to Dakota experiences and knowledge of Haha Wakpa, River of the Falls. This event is a part of the Mississippi Dialogues Project.

This event is free and open to all and held at the Tower View Barn at the Anderson Center. A light dinner will be served.

Alebrijes Exhibition: Building the Dream World

Experience the colorful, fantastical world of alebrijes and see how artists create these engaging creatures!

Anderson Center is pleased to partner with the Minnesota Latino Museum to present the exhibition Alebrijes: Building the Dream World. An alebrije is an imaginary creature that possesses elements from different animals. They originated in the 1930s from the vivid dreams of Mexico City artist Pedro Linares. You may have seen them in the 2017 Disney/Pixar film “Coco,” which increased their exposure in the United States.
