Range FanCon is a convention for anime, sci-fi, fantasy, comic book, video game, and table-top-game lovers right in Virginia, MN! Special guests, vendors, panels, ice bumper cars, games, cosplay competitions and more will take place during the weekend. Tickets are now on sale and children 12 & under are able to attend at no charge when accompanied by an adult.

Bringing together two of the most iconic 70’s and 80’s bands for a night of nostalgic entertainment and pure fun! Featuring a band of talented musicians, this group comes together to bring you hits from The Steve Miller Band like “Jet Airliner,” “The Joker,” “Take the Money and Run” plus hits from The Cars such as “Shake It Up,” Just What I Needed and “Drive.” An evening filled with fantastic music that pays tribute to two bands that help set the tone for two of the most iconic decades in American history, this is a must-attend concert experience.

Puppet Performance: The Adventures of Juan Bobo

Join us on the front lawn of the Minnesota History Center for an evening with Open Eye Theater! The Adventures of Juan Bobo/Las Adventuras de Juan Bobo is a family-friendly puppet performance that will delight audiences of all ages.

The world is upside down, and Juan Bobo is going to do something to turn it right side up! Inspired by Puerto Rican folk stories, this show combines puppetry, music, Spanish, and English in a delightful tale of riddles, silly devils, a missing pig, and a village in need of a hero.

Princess Sing Along Story Time

Step into a magical world where fairy tales come to life! Come to Town Green (7991 Main Street) on Thursday, June 12 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. where beloved winter princesses will lead an interactive storytelling experience filled with familiar music inspired by a land of snow and adventure. Little ones can sing along to classic songs, listen to captivating tales, and even meet their favorite princesses. This a completely free event.

Prairie Plant Identification Walk

Join local nature conservationist Davis Harder on a plant identification walk at Jeffers Petroglyphs. Harder works in the conservation field and is passionate about the ecology of southwestern Minnesota. Growing up in a part of the state where 90% of the landscape is dominated by row crop agriculture, he recognizes the importance of better understanding the remaining intact natural areas such as those found on Red Rock Ridge. This event is included in regular site admission.
