Film Screening: White House Red Carpet with Julia Child

In 1968, Julia Child took viewers behind the scenes at a dinner given by President and Mrs. Johnson at the White House honoring Prime Minister Eisaku Sato and Mrs. Sato of Japan. Join us at the Minnesota History Center for a screening of "White House Red Carpet," and learn about the long tradition of entertaining at the White House through Julia Child's eyes.

Free Minnesota History Center admission and parking runs every Thursday from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. The screening will take place in 3M Auditorium from 6:30 - 8:00 pm. Registration is recommended, but not required.

The Dr. Harold C. Deutsch World War II History Round Table: Vanishing Act

Join Dan Hampton, author of Vanishing Act, as he tells the story of Plane #8 of the 1942 Doolittle Mission that landed in the Soviet Union after dropping bombs in Japan. The talk will also discuss how Minnesota played a role to the modifications of the aircraft for the Mission.

World Water Day Roundtable

This insightful conversation will peer into the future of water, examining global trends that drive our collective efforts to consume water responsibly. Katrina Kessler, Commissioner of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, will deliver opening remarks, followed by expert presenters and panelists from Freshwater Society, Georg Fischer, Kurita America, Pentair, and Veolia. They will share international best practices on water treatment.

USD Chamber Singers present "Americana"

The award winning USD Chamber Singers will present their tour concert "Americana" which includes classical and contemporary choral selections from a wide range of time periods. The program featuring music in celebration of the 250th Anniversary of the founding of America. You will hear traditional choral music, as well as several American folk songs, spirituals, and pop music classics. There is no cost to attend, but a freewill donation will be collected.

Sugarbush Demonstration

Join museum staff for a demonstration of traditional and contemporary methods of harvesting and processing maple sap! Guests will observe the process of boiling sap down into syrup and sugar. Samples of maple sugar will be available. Registration is recommended, but not required.
