The Shark is Broken

Celebrate the 50th anniversary of Jaws at Duluth Playhouse’s The Shark is Broken, a must-see for film buffs and theatre lovers alike, running October 16 - November 2. It’s 1974. The ocean’s wild. The film is over budget. And the mechanical shark… refuses to cooperate. This wickedly funny and unexpectedly moving comedy traps audiences aboard the Orca with Richard Dreyfuss, Roy Scheider, and Robert Shaw as tempers flare and egos clash.

Sandbar Storytelling Festival announces a brand new opportunity for storytellers to sharpen their skills! Circle of Excellence recipient Elizabeth Ellis will be offering a two-day coaching intensive for intermediate and advanced tellers in Winona, MN following the SSF25 Festival. Join us October 12 and 13 for the opportunity of a lifetime–two days of instruction and coaching with world-renowned storyteller and coach Elizabeth Ellis. Space is limited to 12 people, so register early to ensure your spot.

Start Saturday morning off right at 10:00 a.m. with the antics of Bil Lepp and the music and storytelling of Josh Goforth! 10:00 a.m. Bil Lepp – Returning headliner from 2022 and 2023, Bil will continue to regale us with his unique antics, family-friendly tall tales, and stories that have earned the appreciation of listeners of all ages and from all walks of life. Though he is a five-time champion of the West Virginia Liars Contest, his stories often contain morsels of truth, which present universal themes in clever and witty ways.
