The City of Virginia Greenhouse is owned by the City of Virginia and operated with support from the non-profit Friends of the Greenhouse.
The Greenhouse has been a local attraction since 1935. Citizens and tourists enjoy viewing a variety of tropical plants during all seasons, and especially the comfort and warmth of this unique green space during the long winter months.
The Wilder Pageant is a family-oriented outdoor drama based on the life of Laura Ingalls Wilder in Walnut Grove.
It is a live performance each night with all characters from the Walnut Grove area.
Laura narrates the story, reflecting on her life in Walnut Grove in the 1870’s.
The hillside amphitheater has been developed to allow for extensive lighting, sound, and special effects.
Enjoy live music throughout the summer on the Newton Dining Terrace just outside of Rootstock. Local bands and community groups will perform on Thursday evenings from 6-7:30 p.m. and Sunday afternoons from 1:30-3 p.m. Terrace tables will be available for seating. Check out the schedule!
