Sensory Friendly Saturday

This monthly series provides a welcoming and accessible environment for individuals, families, and children who have sensory sensitivities. Experience our Minnesota Journeys gallery, temporary exhibits, the Touch & See Lab, and a brief planetarium show at 8:45 am—all with lowered lighting, quieter sounds, and fewer visitors.

This is an in-person event at the Bell Museum and is included in the cost of regular admission.

Rhythms on the Root: Sleeping Jesus

Lanesboro Arts is thrilled to present Sleeping Jesus as part of the 2023 Rhythms on the Root series on Saturday, July 8th at 6:00 p.m. in Gateway Park.
Sleeping Jesus has various tracks that all tether back to some big
emotions, like how it feels to feel out of place in your own life.
Despite the depths of their messages, their spin on pop music has been
uplifting listeners for many years as they have continued to develop in
their style.

Rhythms on the Root: Faith Boblett

Lanesboro Arts is thrilled to present Faith Boblett as part of the 2023 Rhythms on the Root series on Saturday, August 12th at 6:00 p.m. in Gateway Park.
Faith Boblett is a dynamic singer-songwriter based in Minneapolis.
Having roots in various genres of music, her lyrics and instrumentals
are far-reaching to listeners.

Join Lanesboro Arts and Lanesboro Artist in Residence Sophia Munic at their Residency Reflections & Workshop Progress Capstone happy hour event on Friday, July 28th from 5 – 6 p.m. at Sylvan Brewing.
Sophia will share their work-in-progress, a large-scale quilt that they
will have worked on during the Lanesboro Artist Residency. Sophia and
community members will also reflect on the improvisational quilting
workshops, as well as connect with each other.

All archer skill levels are welcome! Shoot for fun and to sharpen your skills. You can even go through the shoot with your group of friends.

Plant Walk

Note: Bell Museum admission is not included

Join Herbarium Collections Manager Tim Whitfeld on a journey through the Learning Landscape around the museum. This tour will focus on native Minnesota plants, where they grow, and the roles they play in our shared ecosystem.

This 0.5 mile walk takes place outdoors in the landscape surrounding the museum, which includes a mix of flat pavement and some sloped terrain. Be sure to dress for the weather!
