This is north country! The park is located on the shores of Lake of the Woods, a 950,000 acre lake. The three miles of white sand beach and ocean-like waves offer a variety of water recreation opportunities. 6 miles of hiking and 7 miles of cross-country skiing, and 3 miles of snowmobiling. Protected harbor with docking and picnic facilities, 90 foot fishing pier, boat access, and fish cleaning station.
Located on Minnesota's legendary Lake of the Woods, on the Canadian border where world-class fishing & wildlife complement each other in the secluded setting of Zippel Bay Resort. We boast trophy walleye, perch and northern fishing. Lake of the Woods has a claim to the largest walleye caught in a PWT tournament to date. We are a 4 season resort with many options. We have guided charter fishing or small boat rental, fall deer, bear, duck and grouse hunting.
Zig's is named after Haas "Zig" Ziegler who developed the nine-hole golf course at Ruttger's in 1921. Zig convinced Alec Ruttger that a golf course would be a great attraction to offer his guests when the fishing on Bay Lake was slow...smart guy. You can take it all in from Zig's and Zig's patio. Enjoy burgers, sandwiches, salads, steaks, cocktails and more in a relaxed casual setting.
