The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra: Mozart’s 40th Symphony with Dmitry Sinkovsky

"Bounding with talent and oozing charisma" (“Pioneer Press”),
violinist and conductor Dmitry Sinkovsky returns to the Twin Cities this spring
to lead the SPCO in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's famed 40th symphony. The dramatic
passion of the symphonic work makes for a stunning finale of a concert
featuring Baroque works by Mozart's predecessors, George Frideric Handel and
Antonio Vivaldi.

The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra: Bruch and Korngold with Tabea Zimmermann

Artistic Partner Tabea Zimmermann teams up with Principal Clarinet Sang
Yoon Kim in a double concerto full of rhapsodic, Romantic flourish and lush
harmonies that intertwine with the sound of the full orchestra. Dedicated to
his son, clarinetist Max Felix Bruch, Max Bruch’s Double Concerto promises to
grip and transfix audiences alongside smaller symphonic works by Germanic
composers.

EXPRESS CONCERT: Bach’s First Orchestral Suite

Escape into an energizing and playful Express Concert
filled with bright dances, witty rhythms and unexpected charm. This program
melds the joyful spirit of Baroque music, the French tradition and a few
surprises from later eras — offering a fresh, toe-tapping journey through
centuries of expressive sound. With SPCO musicians and the warm, inviting voice
of Principal Bassoon Andrew Brady leading the way as the program’s creative
lead, it’s the perfect blend of elegance and fun.

The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra: Haydn’s "Fire" Symphony

In another strand of the temporal theme woven throughout the 2024.25
season, SPCO violinist Nina Tso-Ning Fan lights a fire in January, leading the
orchestra in Winter from Antonio Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. Works by
Fanny Mendelssohn-Hensel and Max Richter from the 19th and 21st centuries offer
additional interpretations on the passage of time, driving toward the titular
centerpiece of this program — Franz Joseph Haydn’s spirited Fire
Symphony.
