Lakes Area BMX Track

Racers compete against other riders in their age and skill level. Riders advance from novice to intermediate and expert classes as their individual skill level increases. There are also opportunities to compete in state and national races on locally owned sponsored teams if riders wish. It's easy to get started, Just show up for any practice or race and fill out the necessary application. The only equipment required is a 20" BMX bike style bicycle that passes a safety inspection. In addition to helmets, riders must wear long-sleeved shirts and long pants.

Lake Marion Park

Lake Marion Park is located six miles south of Hutchinson on Highway 15. This Park offers open space activities, trails and a picnic shelter.

Herreid Military Museum

The Herreid Military Museum at the Rock County Courthouse Square opened to rave reviews in 2009. The museum was born out of the desire from the community to share the stories of service and sacrifice of WWII veterans made popular in Ken Burns' epic documentary THE WAR. THE WAR told the story of four American towns. Luverne was one of those four cities being chosen by Burns after his viewing of the PBS documentary of Quentin Aanenson. Aanenson produced a documentary of his service in the Army Air Corps during WWII serving as a Thunderbolt pilot in the European Theatre.

This 102-acre park offers 33 mobile electric campsites plus tent camping, resident caretaker, 2 bath houses, log cabin, hiking trails, boat ramp, swimming beach, volleyball, horseshoes, sun deck, fishing docks, plus swinging bridge & playground equipment.
