Snug Harbor Resort and Campground

Snug Harbor Resort has 7, lake level, modern housekeeping cabins. We also have 5 full hookup RV sites. All docks are in a wind free harbor so you never have to worry about your boat on a windy day. We sell bait and marine gas.

Snowshoe Country Lodge

Whether your interests are canoeing, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, bird-watching, steaming away your cares in our log sauna, stargazing, or reading by a crackling woodstove, Snowshoe Country has something for you.

Snowflake - Camping and Nordic Ski Center

We have 23 “Primitive” ( Tent Pads and a Fire-ring ), Walk-In campsites on our property, in a natural wooded area, just 15 minutes from Canal Park and downtown Duluth. We open to camping in May, and remain open until we get enough snow to groom the ski trails. Many campsites are located within 200 ft of our chalet and parking lots, or more remote if you desire. The lower level of the chalet is open to campers 24/7 and offers Boys’ and Girls’ bathrooms, with showers, fresh potable water, and electrical outlets for charging your gadgets.

Snowbank Lodge and Outfitters

Cabins, motel, lodge, fish, canoe outfitting, hunt, hike, ski, meal plans, ice houses. Open all year. There is a good, public access gravel road to our Resort.

Snake River Fur Post

Step into a reconstructed fur post from the winter of 1804. Meet a French voyageur, a British fur trade clerk and visit an Ojibwe encampment at the Snake River Fur Post, formerly the North West Company Fur Post. The visitor center houses an expansive exhibit gallery with a 24-foot birch canoe, a 30-foot tall stone fireplace and a gift shop. The Snake River heritage trails are open year round for hiking, snowshoeing and skiing.

Snake River Campground

Located on the Snake River approx. 6 miles south of the City of McGrath on State Hwy 65. There are 12 camping sites, pit toilets, drinking water, picnic tables, canoe landing, no electricity. This primitive campground is situated in the heart of large acreages of public land, and connects to the Redtop and Soo Line ATV trails. Campground managed by Aitkin County Land Department. Office hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 A.M. - 4:30 PM except holidays.

Snake River Campground

Located in Chengwatana State Forest, managed by Wild River State Park. The 26 campsites are considered "primitive," designed to furnish only the basic needs of the camper. The campsites consist of a cleared area, fire ring, and table. In addition, vault toilets, garbage cans, and drinking water are available. The campground is tucked among the towering mixed pines along the Snake River Canoe Route.

Snake Creek Trail

Located in the Richard J. Dorer Memorial Hardwood State Forest, the Snake Creek Trail stretches 13 miles through the bluff country of southeastern Minnesota. This wooded trail climbs 300 feet along the Snake Creek Valley with stunning scenic overlooks. Sections of the trail have challenging outcroppings and cobbles.
