Winona State University is located in Winona, Minnesota, a picturesque river town on the banks of the Mississippi River in Southeastern Minnesota. The Winona Art Center has a rich history dating back to 1963 and continues to be operated as a community member-owned and run art center. The WAC is a creative network committed to increasing community awareness of the arts by featuring the work of local and regional artists, providing an intimate and unique space for performances and exhibits and encouraging public participation by providing classes and workshops for children and adults.

Lake Winnie offers excellent fishing opportunities for walleye, perch and musky. It is one of Minnesota's premier fisheries. Boating on this 67,000-acre lake is also very popular.
Many hiking and biking trails meander around the lake and its 141 miles of shoreline. Hunting areas can be found in the surrounding forest.
