The look is warm and inviting, with a glowing fireplace, expansive windows, burnished light fixtures, and thoughtfully chosen accessories. Breakfast is a hearty array of self-serve and menu items. Lunch and dinner feature seasonal favorites and year-round classics. And throughout the day, spirited drinks are waiting at the bar.
The Grand Hand offers contemporary fine American craft in a variety of media: clay, wood, fiber, glass, painting and jewelry, reflecting owner Ann Ruhr Pifer's affinity for work that conveys a strong sense of authenticity and shows "the hand of the artist" at work. Over half the gallery selections are by Minnesota and Midwest regional artists, with the balance by artists from across the U.S. The Niche Award-winning gallery hosts special exhibits approximately eight times per year.
The Grand Center for Arts and Culture hosts a variety of programming throughout the year. Aside from its most well known event, weekly live music performances, the Grand also provides arts education classes, a monthly gallery exhibition, artist studio rental space, and community cultural events. Located in the old Grand Hotel in historic downtown New Ulm, the Grand is a unique opportunity that serves as a resource, to artists and the community alike, for the arts and art education.

The Gilbert & Sullivan Very Light Opera Company is a non-profit community theatre organization dedicated to presenting the works of Gilbert and Sullivan. Founded in 1979, it draws its cast and orchestra from throughout the greater Twin Cities area. The GSVLOC has presented all fourteen Gilbert & Sullivan's operettas, ranging from perennial favorites H.M.S. Pinafore and Pirates of Penzance to the lesser-known Grand Duke and Utopia, Limited.
