5-8 Club5800 Cedar Ave S
Minneapolis, MN 55417
The 5-8 Club originally opened in 1928 as a “speakeasy” and was widely known as the 58th Street Club, located out in the country and just adjacent to the new Wold-Chamberlain Airport. Combined with its location, the fact that the building had an underground garage made it a particularly desire-able “speak.” Cars, their trunks filled with bottles of illegal hooch packed in burlap bags, could pull right into the underground garage and the “goods” could be taken upstairs. If you want a genuine Juicy Lucy experience in the Twin Cities, there is no better place to go than the Minneapolis 5-8 Club.
Juicy Lucy Hamburgers, a must-try!

The rumors were right! I had the original Jucy Lucy with Pepperjack, lettuce and onions on it. Wow, what a delicious burger. I will definitely be back.

Let me say right off the bat that the service and the presentation were excellent. The decor was strictly bar decor, I thought that it would be some touch of its history but I have seen this...

It’s a sports bar! It’s a family favorite! It’s a place that wears it’s history proudly. It’s not a place you’ll see vegans and Voss Norwegian tap water.
We arrived on a sunny Saturday afternoon and...

Was it 5-8 Club or Matt's Bar that originated the Juicy Lucy? who knows, they are both very good. The only difference which makes me lean towards Matt's is that the melted cheese comes to end 2/3 of...

Introduced out of town guests to the juicy Lucy at the 5-8. Was not disappointed--server was delightful, burger was a huge hit!
