Prairie lovers, this park is for you. Hike along a glacial beach ridge in this big sky prairie country. Bring your binoculars on the nature trail along the river where many species of wildlife and birds abound. Listen for the rare prairie chicken in the spring, or escape summer's heat by spending the afternoon swimming. A picnic area and campground are located in the hardwood forest along the Buffalo River. 12 miles of hiking trails.
Rates
Park permits: $35 annual, $26 second vehicle, $12 handicapped, or $7 daily. Camping fees are separate.
