About

The Casey Jones State Trail consists of three segments. The longest is 13 miles between the city of Pipestone and the Pipestone/Murray county line. Five miles of the segment is paved and eight are natural surfaced. The second, small natural-surfaced segment runs west 1.5 miles from the city of Lake Wilson. The third is a 6 mile paved lop between Lake Shetek State Park and the city of Currie. The trail connects tallgrass prairie, wooded ravines, and Lake Shetek.

You will need a horse pass if you will be horseback riding. Horses are not allowed on the six miles of paved trail between Lake Shetek State Park and the city of Currie.

For snowmobiling, a snowmobile must be registered or have a snowmobile state trail sticker. No other fees or passes are required to use the trail.
