MacArthur House B&B and Cabins are located in the harbor town of Grand Marais, Minnesota. Conveniently located 1/2 block off the popular Gunflint Trail, 2 blocks from the north shore of Lake Superior, and 4 blocks from the center of town. Grand Marais is well known for it's art galleries, music scene, theater, fine dining, hiking, canoeing and cross country skiing, downhill skiing, and snow mobiling.
Our home was designed and built as a Bed and Breakfast. All our suites and rooms are large and spacious. Our guests often remark how wonderful the size of the house and rooms. Each of rooms has its own private bathroom with tub or shower. The décor is tasteful and pleasant. Our common areas are furnished casually so guest feel completely at home. We invite our guests to warm by the fire, listen to music, enjoy a drink on the deck, watch a movie or just relax in the living room.
The bed and breakfast offers a full complimentary breakfast everyday. Our breakfast is served communal seating in the dining room at 8:30 am. Our main dishes alternate between sweet and savory. Fresh fruit, juice, FIKA coffee, and tea are available every day. Some dietary restrictions can be accommodated. Dietary arrangements need to be made at time of booking.
We bought two of the MacArthur House Cabins in 2012. The other 5 cabins and the motel units were bought in 2013. We have cleaned the Cabins thoroughly, painted inside and out, replace furniture, linens, dishes and gave them plenty of TLC. Our goal is to offer affordable lodging for all.
