North House Folk School is a non-profit educational organization committed to enriching lives and building community through the teaching of traditional northern crafts. 400+ courses, public programs and special events are offered year round. Courses include boat building, basketry, timber framing, traditional crafts, foods, fiber arts, wood-fired baking and northern ecology. We were out on Lake Superior 2.5 hours off the Grand Marais city shore. Our skipper was very knowledgeable and experienced. The young teen working with him was a hard worker and very helpful.
