Part of the original "Big Woods," this park is known for its spring wildflowers, large hardwood trees, and fall color. Take the boardwalk trail or hike to Hidden Falls. The best way to see the beauty of this park is on foot, on 11 miles of hiking trails. In winter,Snowshoeing is permitted anywhere in the park except on groomed trails, and roped-off, sensitive areas, 4 miles of snowmobile trail.

Park permits: $35 annual, $26 second vehicle, $12 handicapped, or $7 daily. Camping fees are separate.

Beautiful park, but very boggy in the spring. Bring extra shoes! There are numerous wildflowers and I saw a Scarlet Tanager which was awesome.

We thoroughly enjoyed our picnic and hiking in Nerstrand State Park and the Hidden falls were pleasant.
And downtown Northfield is so close by that we spent time there as well.

Nice trails through old growth forest with lots of spring wild flowers. The campgrounds are comfortable but very open and not very woodsy.
