Pioneer Village
About
Evansville Historical Foundation's Pioneer Village includes the former Johanson House, an exhibit hall; a one-room country school; a log cabin home; a dugout home; a root cellar; church and church house, and a Town Hall. In addition, the EHF is housed in the former Alf Thompson home. Mr. Thompson, one of many Douglas Cty pioneers and founder of EHF, wanted to recreate a pioneer village--a visual experience of the 19th century--to preserve a part of the past for present and future generations.
