About
Savanna Portage State Park is comprised of almost 16,000 acres. Its landscape of rolling hills, mixed hardwoods, pines, and 4 lakes provide many recreation opportunities including hiking, biking, fishing, camping, swimming, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. Hike or ski the historic Savanna Portage Trail where voyageurs, explorers and Indians once carried canoes and heavy packs. Or walk high above on the Continental Divide Trail where water flows either to the Mississippi River or Lake Superior. This northern lake country park offers excellent swimming, boating, fishing and camping opportunities. 27 mi of hiking and mostly intermediate level cross-country skiing; 32 mi of snowmobile trail. Boat and canoe rental.
Dates
Park permits: $35 annual, $26 second vehicle, $12 handicapped, or $7 daily. Camping fees are separate.
