Split Rock Creek State Park
About
One of the most popular recreation sites in Pipestone County. Created in 1938 by the construction of a dam on Split Rock Creek, the lake contains sunfish, walleye, perch, bass, and northern. During the summer an excellent swimming beach, picnic ground, and campground provide enjoyable outings for southwestern Minnesota residents as well as vacationers. Be sure to stop by the Prairie Hill for an excellent vista. 4.5 miles of hiking trails; boat, paddleboat, and canoe rental. Just north of the park is the famous Pipestone National Monument.
Dates
Park permits: $35 annual, $26 second vehicle, $12 handicapped, or $7 daily. Camping fees are separate.
