BORDERLAND LODGE

Located off the Gunflint Trail, Borderland Lodge has several different cabins, ranging from two to four bedrooms. It also offers lodge rooms with balconies that overlook Gunflint Lake. A great home base for fishing or canoe trips, they also have complimentary canoes and kayaks. The onsite dining room has a fresh menu that is constantly changing with the seasons and even has freshly rolled pasta.

Tettegouche State Park has a handful of cabins to rent, from hike-in-only cabins to the most prized cabin of all: Illgen Falls Cabin. It overlooks Illgen Falls and sits along the Baptism River. The views can’t be beat here and the cabin itself sleeps up to six people with a kitchen and bathroom. Bring your own linens and explore one of the most beautiful state parks in Minnesota.

Ironton Island offers multiple different cabins right in the heart of Cuyuna Country, which is famous for its mountain biking trails and mine lakes. Choose from two-bedroom or tiny A-frame cabins. The two bedroom cabins have a kitchen, living room, bathroom, and wood stove with a balcony that overlooks 20-plus acres of pines, wetlands, and islands. The tiny A-frames offer a place to sleep and come with camping supplies, a patio, hammock, and access to a shared bathroom with outdoor showers.  

LAKE OZAWINDIB CABIN
ITASCA STATE PARK 

Itasca State Park is home to the headwaters of the Mississippi. It also has many historic cabins, making it unique from other Minnesota state parks. Lake Ozawindib Cabin was built in the early 1930s and originally served as a forestry patrol cabin. It is now one of the more secluded cabin options at Itasca State Park that offers great views of the lake. This cabin has the basics, but there’s no indoor plumbing, making it a true rustic getaway.

Oda Hus sits right in the middle of a forest of towering Norwegian Pines. The cabin features floor to ceiling windows allowing you to take in the view. Located on a peninsula on Barrow Lake in Hackensack, guests can also enjoy the lake by swimming off the dock or exploring via the provided kayaks. The modern cabin gives all the comforts of home while enjoying the feeling of seclusion in nature.

The Minne Stuga is located in the woods near Grand Marais on Devil Track Lake. The cabin sleeps up to eight people and is built and outfitted with many local Minnesota companies.
