Ironton Island offers multiple different cabins right in the heart of Cuyuna Country, which is famous for its mountain biking trails and mine lakes. Choose from two-bedroom or tiny A-frame cabins. The two bedroom cabins have a kitchen, living room, bathroom, and wood stove with a balcony that overlooks 20-plus acres of pines, wetlands, and islands. The tiny A-frames offer a place to sleep and come with camping supplies, a patio, hammock, and access to a shared bathroom with outdoor showers.

Itasca State Park is home to the headwaters of the Mississippi. It also has many historic cabins, making it unique from other Minnesota state parks. Lake Ozawindib Cabin was built in the early 1930s and originally served as a forestry patrol cabin. It is now one of the more secluded cabin options at Itasca State Park that offers great views of the lake. This cabin has the basics, but there’s no indoor plumbing, making it a true rustic getaway.
