First Friday Art Walk

The First Friday Art Walk is a monthly community event in downtown Grand Rapids celebrating art and creativity. Events vary by month, and include art exhibits, live music performances, theater skits, book signings, and more. Downtown businesses and organizations host artists, musicians, authors, and other creatives at their locations throughout the downtown area. All events are free unless noted.

Fireworks Display

Viewing areas

These are good viewing areas close to the fireworks display:

  • Northfield Middle School parking lot and south fields
  • Tyler Park
  • Fields north of Jefferson Parkway

While going to or watching the Northfield fireworks display, please do not block roads, streets, sidewalks, trails or driveways

Edina 4th of July Parade

Edina's Annual 4th of July Parade will be held on 50th street in Edina from Edina City Hall to Halifax. The City of Edina will stream the event on its Facebook Page City of Edina, MN (local government). Eighty entertainment acts, community organizations and local politicians participate in this annual event.

Edina 4th of July Fireworks

Edina's annual fireworks display will take place on Sunday, July 3rd at dusk. The First John Philip Sousa Memorial Band will play at Rosland Park ahead of the fireworks display, with fifes and drums starting at 8 pm and the concert at 8:45 pm.

Downtown Art Fair

The Downtown Art Fair is an annual festival hosted by MacRostie Art Center each summer in downtown Grand Rapids. The event is a community celebration of art and creativity.

In 2022 the Downtown Art Fair will feature over 30 artist vendors, live music at 10 am and 1 pm, giant lawn games, make-and-take art activities, and an art raffle. Food trucks at the event include Bobcats Lunchbox and Borealis Creamery.

Blaine Festival

Join us for the 2022 Blaine Festival at Aquatore Park in Blaine, MN!  The festival starts Friday, June 24th at 5:00 p.m. with a Flag Raising Ceremony in honor of Military Night in the Civic Tent.  Friday features a Jell-O Derby; Free Kids Bingo; and Oreo Stacking Contest topped off with the Johnny Holm Band live on stage at 8:00 p.m.  Saturday, June 25 hours are 10:00 a.m. to Midnight.  Live music starts at 12:30 p.m. with Heartless, a Heart Tribute Band; followed by the Crown Jewels, a Queen Tribute Band; then Southern Express and toped off at 8:00 p.m.
