Rose Gallery and Lady of Prairie Lake Art Studio in Pelican Rapids. Marcella Rose traces her artistic roots and love for the natural world back to her formative years growing up on a western Minnesota farm. Following graduation from Minnesota State, Moorhead, Marcella’s art career carried her to Phoenix, Kansas City and Spokane. Acting upon a longstanding desire to focus on her core passion for the fine arts, she then moved to Santa Fe. More recently, she returned to Minnesota and now resides on Prairie Lake, just north of Pelican Rapids.
Marcell Lodge
Marcell Lodge is the newest lodging opportunity in the Edge of the Wilderness area of northern Minnesota and is located on Ranier Lake. Marcell is located in the heart of the Chippewa National Forest. The Marcell Lodge is a recently restored 3,000 sq ft 4 bedroom, 2 bath log cabin that is on the National Register of Historic Places. This unique and beautiful lodge has a full kitchen, air conditioning, 3 levels, large indoor porch, private dock, swimming area, 2 bathrooms, laundry machines, and a very large great room!
Maplewood State Park
Visitors are surprised by the size and incredible beauty of this west-central Minnesota park. There is great fishing, with eight major lakes in this 9,250-acre park. The rolling hills and hardwood forests along the park drive make it an exciting place to watch for wildlife or view fall colors. 25 miles of hiking, 20 miles of horse trails, boat and canoe rental; 5 miles groomed classical, 5 miles ungroomed back-country cross-country ski trails and 21 miles of snowmobile trail.

Maplelag Trail
Nearly 70 kilometers of ski and mountain bike trails. Most of the trails are groomed double wide classical (traditional) style, but we also have skating trails as well. Skating on Skaters Waltz, Skaters Extension and North Loup for a total of 13km. Trail runs through maple and basswood forest and around several lakes; trails range from beginner to expert. Ski lessons, ski/snowshoe rental, ice skating rink available.
Maple Valley Golf & Country Club
Public course (par 71) 18 holes. Maple Valley Golf and Country Club has been a family owned public course since 1963 and heralded by many as the most beautiful public golf course in Southeastern Minnesota.
Located 15 minutes southeast of Rochester our course is cradled on three sides by limestone bluffs and the Root River giving it a natural beauty and difficulty.
