We are located in the heart of Superior National Forest, and just 4 miles from downtown Ely. We are the only resort on beautiful Mitchell Lake, which gives us the luxury of a very private lake. We have the only boat launch on the lake, which we restrict to our guests only. There is no public access to Mitchell Lake.

The Northern Tallgrass Prairie National Wildlife Refuge is approximately 4392 acres in size. It was established to provide a means to permanently preserve a portion of northern tallgrass prairie in western Minnesota and northwestern Iowa. Refuge lands provide visitors the opportunity to view waterfowl, songbirds, marsh and wading birds, shorebirds, raptors, and upland game birds. Other animals to watch for include white-tailed deer, red fox, ground squirrels, and coyotes.
