Come visit the WW Mayo House for Christmas tours. The house will be decorated for the holidays and tours will include interpretations of Christmas traditions throughout the 1800s.

Christmas at the Folsom House

Enjoy a self-guided tour of the 1855 Folsom House during the Taylors Falls Lighting Festival’s 41st year! Back by popular demand, each room of the museum will be decorated by a local business/organization. This is a fundraiser event for the Taylors Falls Historical Society. Free admission. Donations are always appreciated!

Chastity Brown

Gospel and blues, melodic sensibility, and honest emotion…

Based in Minnesota, with roots in Tennessee, Chastity Brown grew up surrounded by country and soul music. In the gospel church of her childhood, she played saxophone and drums. Also, she found her singing voice and a passion for music. NPR’s “Favorite Sessions,” CMT, American Songwriter, the London Times and Paste Magazine have all featured her.

Archival Book Cover Workshop

Safeguarding the Past: Archival Book Cover WorkshopNovember 29 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm ~ Free

Learn how to make archival book covers for two of Gammelgården Museum’s historic books in its collection. You will have an opportunity to handle books from the 1800s and early 1900s, and provide an archival-quality book cover for them.

By creating these covers, you will acquire the skills to design covers for your special and historical books at home.

There is no cost for this workshop, as participants will be helping to protect the museum’s book collection.
