The Christmas City of the North Parade has been an annual holiday tradition in Duluth for six decades. It features marching bands, dance performances, colorful floats and an appearance by Santa Claus. The parade starts at 6:30 p.m. in front of the Fitger’s complex at Sixth Avenue East and Superior Street and continues along Superior Street to Fourth Avenue West.

The first Sweetheart Days Festival was held on June 27, 1952, honoring The Lady by the Lake, Lucette Diana Kensack. Today, Sweetheart Days is a week-long event beginning the second Wednesday in July. Sweetheart Days activities include: Craft Fair, Food Trucks, Dachshund Derby, Car & Motorcycle Show, Live Music from "Fool's Gold" all the way from Montana! Fireworks at dusk over Birch Lake on Tuesday we wrap up the week with the Sweetheart Days Parade and Raffle Drawing.

Hackensack Chainsaw Event is the last weekend in September, the event brings in 12 carvers from all over the U.S.! On Friday, we host local students for a special educational day. The All-American Lumberjack Show brings additional energy to the event with log boom racing, log rolling, and x-cut sawing. Auctions are held on Saturday and Sunday afternoon along with the raffle drawing for cash prizes. Throughout the event there is a craft show and food trucks on-site. There is a fee to enter the gates.
Now in its 7th season, Horse Skijoring returns to Canterbury Park for an action-packed spectacle! Watch as teams of horses and riders race down a snowy track, pulling skiers through challenging courses filled with gates, obstacles, and jumps. Don’t miss the thrilling freestyle tricks as competitors from across the country vie for prizes and glory!
