North Shore Swing Band Christmas Show

The fabulous North Shore Swing Band will play a Christmas Show at Up Yonder on 61 in Grand Marais, Thursday, Dec. 18, 2025, part of their monthly "Third Thursday Jazz" series at the venue. 

Don't miss this talented group of players, including saxophonist Erik Hahn, trombonist Eric Anderson, and vocalists Carah Thomas and Ben Nichols.

The North Shore Swing Band, centered out of the Grand Marais, MN area, is dedicated to the performance of music from the Big Band era, performing at many events throughout the year.

Grand Portage Lodge & Casino will host a Fishing Tournament on the beautiful waters of Grand Portage and Lake Superior. The tournament will take place Friday, August 22 through Sunday, August 24. Participants will fish for Lake Trout and Salmon (King and Coho) to qualify. Fishing will take place on Grand Portage waters in Lake Superior. 

Dick Beardsley 1/2 Marathon, 10K & 5K

Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are invited to participate in the half marathon, 10K, 5K and youth run on Saturday September 6 in Detroit Lakes. 
It's the 30th year of the Dick Beardsley Races! Meet the legendary runner Dick Beardsley at the Friday 6 pm pasta feed at the Detroit Lakes Pavilion, 1361 Washington Avenue. 
Entertainment at the pasta feed by Dick Beardsley and hear inspirational speaker and marathon legend Bill Rodgers.
