We are a unique business neighborhood located in the area of 50th Street and France Avenue. 50th & France features over 175 retailers and professional services. Our retailers include: apparel for men, women, and children, jewelers, and many specialty and gift boutiques. Pamper yourself at one of our spas and salons or see an independent film at our art-house movie theatre. For a fabulous dining experience, enjoy our diverse selection of restaurants to wine and dine at, ranging from casual to contemporary along with fine dining and farm-to-table.
Not just your everyday burger joint, visiting the 50’s Grill is like a little trip to a time when food was homey and delicious and the service was just like you expect.
At the 50’s Grill, you’ll enjoy items such as the homemade Chicken Pot Pie, our number-one seller for over 20 years and easily the best Chicken Pot Pie in town. The burgers and chicken sandwiches are hard to beat, and the just-like-Grandma-used-to-make dinners of comfort food like rotisserie chicken and homemade meatloaf are cooked on-site.
The 5-8 Tavern & Grill, located at the intersection of Minnehaha Ave E. and McKnight, was the first addition to the 5-8 family. Opening its doors in 2002, the first sister to the original 5-8 Club resembles the quaint feel of the Minneapolis location. This location hosts a pull tab booth as well as weekly bingo, making it a favorite neighborhood hangout. If you live east of the Twin Cities and want to sink your teeth into a famous 5-8 Juicy Lucy, this is the place for you.
The 5-8 Grill & Tap, our newest location, opened its doors late-summer 2014. With a patio looking out onto South Robert Street, the 5-8 Grill & Tap adds an updated, modern feel to the "speakeasy" vibe of the original Minneapolis 5-8 Club location. This location also features a new menu with items like the Asian Chicken Salad and the Inside Out Brat Burger.
The 5-8 Grill & Bar is the third addition to the 5-8 family. Located right across the street from Champlin Park High School, the 5-8 Grill & Bar opened in 2004 and has been warmly accepted into the community. Actively participating in many local charities and sports team sponsorships, trivia, bingo, and other weekly events make this spot not only a great place for an unbeatable burger, but also for a fun night out with friends and family.
The 5-8 Club originally opened in 1928 as a “speakeasy” and was widely known as the 58th Street Club, located out in the country and just adjacent to the new Wold-Chamberlain Airport. Combined with its location, the fact that the building had an underground garage made it a particularly desire-able “speak.” Cars, their trunks filled with bottles of illegal hooch packed in burlap bags, could pull right into the underground garage and the “goods” could be taken upstairs.
Serves a full dinner menu that offers broasted chicken, prime rib, steaks, burgers, shrimp, monster burgers, great sandwiches like chicken, fish & roast beef. Right next door is the 40 Club Convention Center and 40 Club Inn
