Columbia Heights Music in the Park - Ecuador Manta

This Andean band originates from a small village called Atahualpa in Ecuador, South America. Ecuador Manta, based in St. Paul Minnesota, started in 1992. The group has a unique style compared to other traditional Andean bands. They have created their music style over the years by using the traditional rhythms from Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Colombia and combining them with more contemporary Latin and Caribbean rhythms.

Columbia Heights Citywide Garage Sale

Visit the City's website for the map.

Colony Collapse Disorder

Colony Collapse Disorder is the phenomenon that occurs when the majority of worker bees in a beehive disappear, leaving behind the queen and a handful of nurse bees to care for the remaining larvae. But hives cannot sustain themselves without workers, and eventually the food runs out and they die.

This exhibition includes 2-D and 3-D artworks by 25 regional artists exploring subjects related to social disorder, societal collapse, space exploration, collectivism, science fiction, colonialism, workers withholding their labor, and (of course) bees and beekeeping.
