Hike with a Geologist

Join Voyageurs Conservancy and Chris Hemstad for a hike through the geologic formations at Voyageurs National Park.

The day will include a short presentation on the formation of Voyageurs, nearly 2.8 billion years ago. The group will then caravan a short distance to a site where we will walk and view multiple examples of geologic formations common to Voyageurs National Park.

"Hidden Place" by Justin Terlecki

Groveland Gallery is pleased to present Hidden Place, an exhibition of new paintings by St. Paul artist, Justin Terlecki, opening September 6 at Groveland Gallery. Originally from Youngstown, Ohio, Terlecki has exhibited his work regularly in the Twin Cities since moving to Minnesota in 1998. In 2009, Terlecki received a Jerome Fellowship for Emerging Printmakers through Highpoint Center for Printmaking.

Hibbing Jubilee Parade

You are invited to the biggest and "sweetest" parades on the Iron Range! We have almost 100 entries each year, magic of community that brings everyone together, and kids always leave with full bags of candy that our wonderful participants hand out!! The parade runs from 1st Ave. & 25th St. to Howard St. & 8th Ave. starting at 3pm-5pm. Make sure to stick around after the parade for the Hibbing Jubilee Street Dance to start!

Herpetology Talk with Hugh Gabriel

Join us at Jeffers Petroglyphs to learn about frogs, turtles and more! How do cold-blooded creatures survive - and thrive - in Minnesota, a state famous for its harsh winters? Bell Museum educator Hugh Gabriel will share frog facts, turtle tales, and snake stories in this celebration of Minnesota herpetology. This event is free with site admission.

On Aug 2 join us at White Bear Lake County Park for a concert featuring Yam Haus, NUNNABOVE, and Call Me Fritz on the beach. Hay Days
