Girlhood Artist Workshop: Brook LaFloe
Join us for a beaded fringe earring workshop with Brook LaFloe. LaFloe grew up in the Twin Cities and is a member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa, ND. An artist, Indigenous educator, entrepreneur, CEO and co-founder of Niniijanis (One of Ones), LaFloe is featured in the Minnesota (where girls shoot hoops) section of the Girlhood (It’s complicated) exhibit for her work and accomplishments supporting the Twin Cities Native Community through her work in Montessori education and coaching basketball.

Davina Sowers and the Vagabonds have created a stir on the national music scene. Mandy has starred on Broadway in the megahit Hamilton as Angelica Schuyler. She also originated Nina Rosario in the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, In The Heights, for which Mandy received a Drama Desk Award. Mandy also starred as Elphaba in the Broadway production of Wicked, blowing the roof off of New York’s Gershwin Theatre each night as she belted out the signature song, “Defying Gravity.”

What started out as an annual videotape comedy competition in New York to honor a fellow woman in comedy who helped so many other get their start (Mary Jo Wobker), has steadily become known in the comedy world as the careerbuilder for women in comedy.
