Wet Felted Neck Warmer

Students will use the wet felting technique with merino wool, silk, bits of yarn and other embellishments to create a one-of-a-kind, cozy neck warmer for those chilly months! A combination of water, soap, and fun bits and bobs of yarn and ribbon, as well as some physical rubbing and rolling turns fluffy wool roving into felt. You choose your colors and fibers so no two are alike. Instructed by Bobbi Hoppman of Witty Knitty Designs.

Intro to Cyanotype: Custom Card Set

Explore the historic photographic process of cyanotypes while celebrating World Cyanotype Day! This vibrant technique uses the power of the sun to expose detailed prints on surfaces. First, students will be introduced to the basics of creating their own cyanotypes by transferring their first print to paper. Students will then be able to experiment with multiple objects, exposure times, and techniques to create and take home a set of 4-6 custom cards and envelopes. The result of cyanotype is pure magic and one of a kind!

Intro to Basket Weaving: Tribal Woven Basket

Learn the foundational skills of basketry in this beginning basket weaving class! Students will incorporate the over/under weaving technique using natural rattan reed, waxed linen, glass beads, and black yarn to accent. Students will also be provided with a variety of color dyed reed to accent their basket. The completed round basket will be approximately 6" x 6.5" x 6.5". This is a great introductory class for those who have little to no experience in basket weaving, or simply want to sharpen their techniques in basketry.
