Sugarloaf Theater's "Through the Looking Glass"

We are so excited to present our production of Through the Looking Glass!! This amazing musical based on Lewis Carrol’s classic novel will be a thrilling adventure for all ages to enjoy!! With talking flowers, singing chess pieces, and epic sword fights, what’s not to love? This show has an amazingly talented cast of all ages!!All performances will be held at Cornerstone Community Church. The show will be performed on August 15 and 16 at 6:00 pm and August 17 at 2:00 pm.

State Capitol Complex Archaeology Tours

A team of archaeologists are at work near the Minnesota State Capitol performing excavations to assess the archaeological potential of the area and determine if archaeological features and cultural material from St. Paul’s diverse history could still remain below the surface. This information will be used to synthesize the buried past of St. Paul and to evaluate National Register eligibility for a potential Minnesota State Capitol Mall Historic District.

Old Oaks Live

The Old Oaks Duo encompasses the chill-yet-funky acoustic music of singer-songwriter Frank Laufenberg. Their latest album The Day Before Yesterday, which has over 60,000 streams on Spotify, is a reflection on the past, meant to be understood like a memory that's on the tip of your tongue. Their indie folk originals are paired with covers from artists spanning from Neil Young to Jimi Hendrix to Vulfpeck. Frank's vocals and 12-string guitar interludes are complemented by harmonious saxophone solos and alto flute riffs by Daniel Haschke.

John Schroeder Day

Come join us to celebrate the history of Schroeder with John Schroeder Day! We have a fun day planned with plenty of things to do and see. Activities begin at 10 am at the Cross River Heritage Center. We will have a naturalist speaker joining us to talk about bears at ten, followed by a walking history tour of Schroeder led by Skip Lamb at noon. We are also hosting an arts and crafts fair at the center from 10 am until 4 pm. Temperance Traders will have beer and liquor samples and a free giveaway from 3 pm until 6 pm.
