Hellavision Television Presents: Debt Quest

Debt Quest is an experimental animated variety show inspired by RPG's like Dungeons and Dragons written by Lije Morgan. We follow 4 heroes as they try to pull themselves from financial despair by fulfilling the Bug King’s Debt Quest. This 90-minute epic is comprised of community sourced experimental animation from the Hellavision Television Network.

Actually, make that surreal; after all, he was walking his dog in a pair of boxers and a parka at the time.

Great Northern Viking Festival

Great Northern Viking Festival is a family-friendly Viking festival in southern Minnesota, held June 13–14, 2026. This immersive weekend event combines live entertainment, interactive demonstrations, and educational programming inspired by the Viking Age.

Attendees can enjoy live combat demonstrations, forging and craft demos, music, storytelling, and hands-on activities throughout the festival grounds. A curated vendor marketplace features Viking garb, armor, jewelry, and handcrafted goods, giving guests the chance to shop and engage directly with artisans.

What happens when the lights go out and the curtains close in the theatre? Join us for a guided tour of the historic Theatre in the Round building, sprinkled with true theatre ghost stories, lore, and other spooky fun!

Fiber Arts

Fiber Arts Club at Great River Arts will be on the first Thursday of each month from 7 - 8 p.m. Please bring your own crochet/knitting hooks and needles. If you are working on a project, feel free to bring it along as well!

Columbia Heights Truck or Treat Sponsored by Magnifi Financial

Truck or Treat returns for its seventh year on Sat, Oct 26, 1-4 pm, at Huset Park (3965 Jefferson St NE)! Columbia Heights and its City departments will also collaborate with community partners to help make the event possible. Each vehicle station will hand out candy to middle school and younger kids. Columbia Heights Fire Department Open House

The Columbia Heights Fire Department will host its annual Fire Prevention Open House on Sat, Oct 12, from 11 am to 2 pm as part of National Fire Prevention Week, Oct 6-12.

This year's Fire Prevention Week campaign is “Smoke alarms: Make them work for you!™” This campaign strives to educate everyone about the importance of having working smoke alarms in the home.

Beneath the Surface – the Ordinary, the Sacred and the Untold

Using layered visual narratives, four artists delve into hidden emotions, spiritual connections, and the
unnoticed moments of everyday life.

The exhibition features painter Rachel Coyne, photographer Vincent DeZutti, mixed media artist Lou Ferreri, and ceramicist Moz Rude.

Their work moves through the subtle spaces between the ordinary and the sacred, uncovering stories that evoke a deep sense of familiarity and meaning.
