North Of North Resort is located on MN Highway 1, just 10 miles south of Ely. The resort is surrounded by the Superior National Forest wilderness and is approximately a mile from the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. Wood Carving Class

Chippewa County Historical Society presents a Wood Carving Class with Joe Hauger. This wood carving class offers the tools and techniques you need to bring your imagination to live!

Cost: $30.00 per person

All ages are welcome, students under 14 must have an adult attend (adult is free if not carving).

A community celebration bringing our community together. Focusing on different cultures, getting the next generation involved in our community, and maintaining a healthy community.

Papa D's Dinner and MGLX food & drink food trucks will be providing food and drinks. We will also have an ice cream social serving a variety of ice cream and root beer floats.

Entertainment will be held on the Gazebo.

Swensson Farm Horse Power Event

Horse Power Event is held annually the second Saturday in September. Horse drawn demonstrations including plowing, cultivating, mowing, potato digging, raking, and more are featured. Inside the family home lefse, butter, cider making and other demonstrations are held. Additional artisans may include loom weaving, spinning wheel, wood carving, rug making, and more. Inside the Barn and throughout the grounds additional activities and displays are featured. This one of a kind annual event is held at the Swensson Farm Museum, and runs from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Admission is charged for non-members.
