Thus, three albums in quick succession were inspired by soul icons such as Billie Holiday, Nina Simone and Etta James.

From childhood, Andrew was captivated by Bennett’s voice and artistry. He studied his phrasing and discography, saw him live 16 times and, in 2017, had an unforgettable dinner with Tony himself after a chance meeting in Manhattan. That conversation—Bennett sharing the story of his career in his own words—became the heart of this show.
